Olga Yurkova is a journalist and cofounder pf StopFake, an independent Ukrainian organization that trains an international cohort of fact-checkers in an effort to curb propaganda and disinformation in the media. She teaches different audiences how propaganda works and how to identify fake news, consulting a range of organizations and public structures.
She has 15 years in journalism. Yurkova has been working as a media trainer since 2012. For fighting propaganda, she was included in the list of New Europe 100 and was named a TED Fellow in 2018. Her TED Talk was watched more than 1 million times.
Former photojournalist and web-documentary maker, now product manager specializing in editorial innovation, Gerald studies the impact of synthetic media (deepfakes) on the making of digital visual culture.
After 10 years of regular interventions with different journalism schools (EMI, CFJ/CFPJ, INA, Sciences Po Grenoble), Gerald Holubowicz teaches at the School of Journalism and the Media Center of Sciences Po Paris.
Rustem is a founder and former CEO at Robo Technologies (Robo Wunderkind), the pioneer in the educational robotics market. Arkley was lead investor in Robo Wunderkind’s seed round. Rustem with two co-founders started Robo Wunderkind in 2013 during studies at the Vienna University of Technology and brought the idea to a successful company with customers from 58 countries. During 2014-2017 Rustem lived 1,5 years in Shenzhen, China working with factories and building up a supply chain for his robots. 9 Stories – a collection of short stories by contemporary American authors in the Russian language. This project was led by Yuriy Serebryanskiy, a Kazakhstani author and alumnus of the IWP International Writing Program, and Anton Platonov, translator and cultural researcher.
The project supported by U.S. Consulate in Almaty has started in 2018 as a translation workshop turned later into Literary Translation Laboratory, the group of Kazakhstani authors and literary translators - Polina Chhichina, Oral Arukenova, Mairzhan Kourmanov, Victoriya Russakova, Anna Kozhanova, Ekaterina Patrikova, Alyona Kim, Olga Abramova, Mariya Kuznetsova, Meruert Tair, Kamilla Mushkina, Katerina Dzvonik, Marina Mihtayeva, Katerina Hodyreva, Jamilya Akhmedova.
